The view to Hong Kong
The internet suffered a serious blow at the hands of the Chinese censors recently. Among the casualties were Flickr, Twitter, Hotmail, Live, and hundreds of Chinese sites. Add this on top of Youtube, Blogspot, and Wordpress. It's almost impossible now to blog in English in the mainland. Somehow Wikipedia has remained untouched. I'm still waiting for Xanga to come back on the air, after being muzzled for over two years. Who knows, maybe the whole internet will go down. All I can say right now is thank god for Hong Kong (photo below)
In other news, I've started my own photoblog, which is being updated almost daily. So if you want to follow my photographic excursions, see here: www.shenzhenphotos.com

welcome back!
Miss you!! Did you have fun in Hong Kong?
It really is disturbing how much the Chinese are cracking down this past year.
the view is amazing!
@sherab_zangmo - the vigil in hong kong was very touching and thought provoking. i think its a good example of what mainland china could be like if they loosened up a bit. i'm in hk right now and its always a breath of fresh air.
@StarlahMantra - thanks starlah, i need to do more shooting like this. i find myself only willing to go out when the weather/conditions are ideal like this. you have to work around a lot of dreary smog laden skies around here.
@jessewarren - even with all the smog, it gives it a sort of dreamy ambience...maybe it's just me though. :)
